Michael E. (Mickey) Bryce, Sr.
After a number of years in full-time music ministry, Mickey felt God calling him to something new. In the fall of 2004, God called Mickey to plant a new church. His heart has always been to help people experience God in new and fresh ways in worship. Speaking God's Word is Mickey's new opportunity, as well as joining with other Christians to craft a vision for a new church. Mickey's heart for ministry is that real people will experience Christ in real ways. His speaking on Sunday mornings is a blend of Bible study, humor, and transparency. He is learning to better understand and experience the life-changing power of Jesus Christ, and to communicate God's truth from that journey.
Mickey holds degrees from Friends University and Southwestern Seminary, and has served in ministry for 38 years. He also serves on the adjunct faculty at Mesa Community College and is active in the local professional theatre community as an actor, director, and music director. His wife Ellen, his three children, Laura, Rebecca, and Michael, and his son-in-law Nick were all involved in the foundation of Centerstage Church.
Ellen and Mickey became grandparents when Kate Jones was born in 2010. Number two, Samantha Jones, came along in 2013. Reagan Kaye Bryce was added to the family in 2017. Mickey loves them each very much and enjoys spending time with them, even more than fishing.
